Letters from Kids

Lilavati Poddar H.S.
Mumbai

To my friend in Pakistan ,

I yet don't know ur name but I hope this letter finds me a friend in you. My name is Sakshi. I am 12 yrs old and am studying in the 7 th Std. I love to read, dance and play tennis.

I have heard and read a lot about your country. In history books, I read the painful partition of what once used to be a united sub-continent. I have always wondered what would it have been like to have India and Pakistan as one country. But since history cannot be altered, I want to create strong bonds with your nation. After all, we come from the same background. If you share my sentiments, please write in to me or send me a mail. My e-mail id is ---

I cannot wait to hear from you. Your mail will start a strong bond of friendship , Godwilling and get us both to know each other better. Write to me about yourself. PLEASE!! I will pen off now. “Aadab” to all ur elders and best wishes to you.

Yours truly,

Sakshi
